Against Intuition

It is amazing, isn't it, how easily people hand over the reins to those who presume power. Against their own intuition, they allow themselves to trust those who they feel should not be trusted.

We live in a world where our intuition and gut feeling are often not prioritized. Over years of being told that our gut instincts are meaningless, we may come to believe that our intuitions are not valuable and untrustworthy. Our intuitions however can hold a lot of wisdom for us, like when we get a gut sense of whether or not someone has your best interest at heart. Have you ever willfully ignored a gut sense about who is safe to have in your life? Especially so if power dynamics already dictate that person is someone that should have your trust? Any other times that you can recall where your intuition was correct that you didn’t listen to? If you struggle with connecting with your intuition, why do you think that is challenging for you? What are some small ways in your life that you can start listening to the wisdom of your body?
